Important Notice

It is with much regret that we have had to take the decision to make the 2020 Planning Research Conference an online-only event. It has become clear that the overall Covid-19 situation is unlikely to have improved sufficiently to allow a physical gathering to take place safely and in a manner consistent with UCL policy.

Instead, we are planning a programme of focused online events, including plenaries and themed sessions giving participants an opportunity to present papers and engage in a range of topical discussions. Over the coming week we will contact session chairs and everyone who has already submitted an abstract to put together an online PRC programme to take place on 8th and 9th September.

If you haven’t already submitted an abstract but wish to be considered for an online session, then please do so using the following link by the close of this Friday, July 31st:

Reasons to attend

UK-Ireland Planning Research Conference 2020

The Bartlett School of Planning, UCL will host the 2020 UK-Ireland Planning Research Conference in London, between 8-9 September 2020. This is the leading conference of the UK and Ireland planning research community, welcoming participants from across the world and contributions on all matters related to planning.

The theme will be ‘Good Cities, Better Lives‘, the title of Professor Sir Peter Hall’s final book from 2014, and an appropriate goal for the research and reflections on planning practice to be discussed at this conference. The theme also links to the celebration of 100 Years of Welwyn Garden City taking place later that week.
