Tailored CPD training at your trust

Would you like CPD training delivered at your hospital, trust or deanery? The RCP’s in-house workshops are a cost-effective way to deliver training tailored to the specific needs of your doctors, on a date that suits you and at a venue of your choice.

We have worked with over 70 organisations to develop in-house training events, ranging from 1-day workshops and RCP accreditations, to long-term partnerships, both in the UK and internationally.

They can be delivered to doctors of any specialty or grade, including tailored training for specialty and associate specialist (SAS) groups. All workshops are CPD-accredited and we can provide full event administration support. Come to the RCP Hub to speak to the team and gather information to take back to your trust.

What is the Falls and Fragility Fractures Audit Programme?

With an ageing population, preventing falls and fragility fractures is more important than ever. Older people are not only more likely to fall but as a result they suffer severe consequences, such as loss of confidence and loss of independence, which can lead to mental and physical deterioration, increasing the risk of further falls and fractures and therefore increase the risk of death.

The Falls and Fragility Fracture Audit Programme is a clinically-led suite of national clinical audits commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) and run by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP). Come speak to us to gain an overview of how the care that patients receive is measured through three linked national clinical audits: the National Hip Fracture Database (NHFD), the Fracture Liaison Service Database (FLS-DB) and the National Audit of Inpatient Falls (NAIF).

Physicians’ CPD app demonstration

Released last year, the Physicians’ CPD app from the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians UK has now been downloaded over 7,000 times. It allows users to record and reflect CPD activity at the point of learning and complements the existing CPD diary, which are both included as an RCP membership benefit.
This hub session is aimed at people who have yet to use the app or who want to learn more about getting the most out of it. Why not begin by adding Medicine 2019 to your CPD record?

Speak to Professor Cheng-Hock Toh, RCP academic vice president, and other experts as they explain what practical steps doctors, NHS trusts, patients and researchers can take to increase research activity.
